Obituary

Pearl Loraine Haddox DeBrular

Pearl Loraine DeBrular, 95, of Weston, WV, went to her eternal home on Friday, July 20, 2018, at The Wyngate Senior Living Community in Parkersburg, WV, surrounded by her loving family, following an extended illness.

She was born on September 7, 1922 in Harrisville, WV a daughter of the late T.A. “Thurman” and Edith Haddox.

On January 11, 1941, she was married to Lewis W. DeBrular, celebrating 44 years of marriage until his passing on January 12, 1985.

Loraine graduated from Harrisville High School where she then went to work for the Honorable Judge Prunty in the Ritchie County court system. After she and Lue were married they moved to Lewis County where she became a wife and mother. She was completely devoted to her family and church. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Weston for 60 plus years, where she served as church treasurer for over 20 years, and also taught Sunday School. She was secretary/treasurer of the family business for 55 years, and for many years she worked at the Lewis County Sheriff’s office typing tax tickets. She worked hard all her life and there was no finer bookkeeper who, until her retirement, did everything by ledger. She will be sadly missed but she is now with her Lord and Savior with a new eternal body that will last forever.

Loraine is survived by two daughters, Barbara Reed of Ellenboro, WV and Brenda (Jeff) Randolph of Vienna, WV, and one son, Lewis Stephen (Kathy) DeBrular of Weston, WV. Grand children, Kevin Stout, Jill (Mitch) Morrison, Jason Floyd, Natalie DeBrular, Joey DeBrular, and great grandchildren, Nathan Morrison, Michael Stout, and Landyn Taylor. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Hardman and Aileen VanHorn, one brother, Edward Haddox, grandson, David Stout, and son in law, Eddie Reed.

Funeral services will be 2pm, Monday, July 23, 2018, at the Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville, WV with Rev. Kenneth Miller officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Harrisville IOOF Cemetery. Family and friends will gather from 11am-2pm on Monday.

It is the family’s request that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to First Baptist Church of Weston in her memory at 132 E. 2nd Street, Weston, WV 26452.

The family would like to thank Loraine’s in home caregivers, the staff at Wyngate, and Amedysis Hospice for their compassionate care in her last years.
