Hildegard Edith Rexroad, age 80, departed this earthly life, at her residence in Harrisville, WV, on Saturday, February 25, 2012, after a long illness. She was born on February 6, 1932, in Berlin, Germany, the daughter of the late Ludwig Otta Schulz, and Hildegard Agnes (Hapke) Schulz.
She was a graduate of mechanical and architectural draftsman college in Germany, and was employed by the Siemen's Corporation, as well as an accomplished fine artist.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ray H. Rexroad, Harrisville, WV, one son, Michael Rexroad, Ashville, NC; one daughter, Iris Clymer, Coffeeville, KS; one brother, Kurt Schulz, Hamm, Germany; two sisters, Gisela Aitken, Orlando, FL and Helga Fracker and husband, Stan, Jackson, MI; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, as well as thirty five nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Hulmut Schulz, Germany.
Hildegard was a very loving and caring lady who would literally give you the shirt off her back to those in need who truly cared for her fellow man. This lady will be surely missed by those who knew her and loved her. If she did not gain entrance through the "Pearly Gates" the rest of us do not stand a chance!
Funeral services will be 1pm, Thursday, March 1, 2012, at the Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville with the Rev. John Frum officiating. Burial will follow in the King Knob Cemetery near Harrisville. Friends may call from 4-8pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
